During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fraser confirmed he will reprise his role from the popular adventure franchise. He said the cast is “getting the band back together” and wants to give fans the sequel they have been asking for for many years.
Fraser joked that he is working hard to prepare physically for the movie.
“Please wish me luck,” he said. “I’m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape.”
The actor also hinted that the film will return to familiar locations from the earlier movies but avoided revealing too many details.
In February, Deadline reported that Fraser and Rachel Weisz are both returning for the fourth film in the franchise. The movie will be directed by Radio Silence and written by David Coggeshall. Universal plans to release it on May 19, 2028.
Fraser and Weisz first starred together in The Mummy in 1999 and returned for The Mummy Returns in 2001. Fraser later appeared in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008, while Weisz did not return for that sequel.
