Chris Brown Receives Honorary Doctorate From Harvest Christian University

Chris Brown can now add “Dr.” to his list of titles. On Saturday (May 23), the Grammy-winning R&B singer revealed that he received an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Visual & Performing Arts from Harvest Christian University, a private Christian institution based in Dallas.

“I DID A THING!” Brown wrote on Instagram alongside photos of himself in black-and-purple graduation regalia while holding the honorary degree certificate. The post also included images from the ceremony where he accepted the honor.

The recognition comes amid continued chart success for the singer. Brown’s latest album, Brown, recently debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, earning approximately 65,000 equivalent album units in its first week. The project became his 13th top-10 album on the chart, fueled primarily by strong streaming numbers exceeding 60 million on-demand streams.
