Speaking on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast, the Rivals star said she had never shared the experience publicly before. Atack explained that the pregnancy happened during a difficult period when her parents were divorcing. She said the pregnancy “didn’t continue” but did not give further details.
Atack also spoke about being sexually assaulted at the age of 10 and said she faced inappropriate behaviour from older men throughout her life. She described herself as a “troubled teen” who spent time with “the wrong crowds”.
The actor, now engaged to scientist Dr Alistair Garner, welcomed their son Barney in June 2024. In a separate interview with Grazia magazine, she revealed she became seriously ill with sepsis after giving birth.
Atack is currently promoting the second season of Disney+ drama Rivals, based on Jilly Cooper’s novel.
