In a personal essay published Monday on her “The Best Friend Experience” Substack, Mollen, 46, reflected on how she has spent much of her life rushing toward the next achievement instead of appreciating the present moment. She said a memory from her sixth birthday party — where she quickly opened gifts and later felt unexpectedly lonely — still shapes how she views life today.
Mollen wrote that she was always eager to grow up, build a career and move on to the next milestone, but now realizes she missed many important moments along the way, including parts of raising her two sons with Biggs.
The couple, who share sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8, separated earlier this month. Representatives previously said they remain on good terms and are focused on coparenting.
Mollen also revealed she is traveling to Italy for her birthday, joking that despite the timing, the trip is not an “Eat, Pray, Love” journey connected to her divorce. Jason Biggs has not publicly commented on the separation.
