In an interview with Variety, Pfeiffer said she loved working on the film because she got to sing and dance. The role helped launch her career, leading to major films such as Scarface, The Witches of Eastwick, Dangerous Liaisons, and Batman Returns.
Speaking previously to Entertainment Weekly, Pfeiffer recalled that she had little confidence during the audition process, describing it as a crowded “cattle call.” She said she was not a trained singer or dancer at the time and felt nervous during auditions.
When Grease 2 was released, it struggled at the box office and failed to match the success of the original Grease. Pfeiffer said she felt pressure because she and co-star Maxwell Caulfield were largely unknown and the film had been heavily promoted.
Despite its disappointing release, Grease 2 later gained a loyal fan base and became a cult classic. Pfeiffer said she is pleasantly surprised by its lasting popularity and believes audiences have become more appreciative of it over time. She still keeps several souvenirs from the movie, including her Pink Ladies jacket and bowling gear.
