In an interview published on April 11, Dynevor explained that her absence is not her choice. She said she simply has not received a call from the show’s producers. She added that she would be willing to come back if she were invited and available.
Dynevor also said that when the first season became a success, the production team had not fully planned how to bring main characters back in later seasons. Because of that, some original leads, including her character, were not included in ongoing storylines.
After season one, Bridgerton shifted its focus to other members of the Bridgerton family. Recent and upcoming seasons follow characters like Colin and Benedict, with more seasons already confirmed.
There have also been rumors about recasting Daphne or Simon Bassett, played by Regé-Jean Page. However, showrunner Jess Brownell has said that recasting would not happen. She explained that the original actors are closely tied to the characters and their stories.
Brownell said the team would like to bring both Dynevor and Page back in the future, but only if there is a meaningful storyline for them.
The earliest possible return for either actor would be in season five, which is currently in production and will focus on Francesca Bridgerton’s story.
