During a conversation with producer Brian Teta, Haines discussed the idea of “destination addiction,” or always thinking happiness will come later in life. She then recalled a moment from about 10 years ago when her sister was moving away from their parents.
Haines said her father told her sister, “You’re making your good old days,” reminding her to appreciate the present moment. While sharing the story, Haines broke down in tears and said the advice still helps her stay grounded during difficult times.
She explained that life constantly changes and that both happy and hard moments are temporary.
Haines, 48, is married to Max Shifrin and has three children. Earlier this year, she also made headlines after joking on The View that her father was “hot,” saying she could recognize that without being attracted to him.
