In a new interview with Variety, Moafi said claims of an offscreen “beef” are “completely false.” She explained that while their characters, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi and Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, clash often in season 2, she and Wyle have a good working relationship behind the scenes.
“We're really great colleagues,” Moafi said, adding that they often joked and laughed between filming intense scenes.
Some fans believed Dr. Al-Hashimi’s difficult storyline in season 2 was connected to rumors of tension between the actors. Moafi rejected that idea and said she fought to keep her character’s story meaningful, especially regarding her medical condition and disability representation.
Moafi also confirmed she expects to return for season 3, though details about her role are still unclear.
Creator R. Scott Gemmill said season 3 will focus on Robby trying to recover emotionally and will continue exploring Dr. Al-Hashimi’s health struggles and her complicated relationship with Robby. The new season will also address real-world healthcare issues, including changes to Medicare and Medicaid.
Several cast members are expected to return, and actress Ayesha Harris will join the main cast as Dr. Parker Ellis.
