Zendaya to Skip 2026 Met Gala After Busy Work Schedule

Zendaya will not attend this year’s Met Gala, according to a report from Elle. The actor is said to be taking a break after a busy period promoting her recent projects.

She has had a packed schedule in recent months. Her film The Drama, co-starring Robert Pattinson, premiered on April 3. Shortly after, season three of Euphoria debuted on HBO on April 12. She also has several major releases coming later this year, including The Odyssey in July, Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the end of July, and a third Dune film in December.

Zendaya has attended the Met Gala seven times since 2015 and was a co-chair in 2024. At last year’s event, she wore an all-white Louis Vuitton suit.

Her absence means she is unlikely to appear at the event with Tom Holland, her co-star in the upcoming Spider-Man film. Holland has never attended the Met Gala. While the couple has not confirmed their marital status, Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach said earlier this year that they are already married.

This year’s Met Gala will still feature several high-profile names. Co-chairs include Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams. Expected guests include Sabrina Carpenter, Teyana Taylor, Zoë Kravitz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Jeff Bezos.

The 2026 Met Gala theme, “Costume Art,” will focus on the connection between fashion and fine art.
