Meryl Streep praises Lady Gaga’s cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2

Meryl Streep says working with Lady Gaga on The Devil Wears Prada 2 was a highlight of the film.

In a new interview with PEOPLE, Streep described Gaga in one word: “Divine.” She said Gaga was funny, easy to work with, and open to improvising scenes. Streep also praised her as both a talented musician and a strong actress.

Gaga appears in the sequel as herself. In one key scene set during Milan Fashion Week, her character clashes with Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, the powerful editor-in-chief of Runway magazine.

Anne Hathaway, who also returns for the sequel, shared similar thoughts. She said Gaga was kind, humble, and professional, even while managing a busy world tour at the time. Hathaway noted that Gaga treated everyone on set with respect and brought no ego to the project.

Streep also revealed that she personally invited Gaga to join the film. According to her, Gaga quickly agreed despite her demanding schedule.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now playing in theaters.
