Cassie Says She Lives Abroad and Has No Plans to Return to the U.S. Amid Ongoing Lawsuit

Cassie has revealed that she now lives outside the United States and does not plan to return permanently.

In a court declaration dated May 1, 2026, filed as part of her ongoing legal dispute with male escort Clayton Howard, the singer stated, “I reside outside of the United States. I do not intend to move back to the United States.” She also noted that while she is a U.S. citizen, she is not a California resident.

The filing is connected to a lawsuit Howard brought against Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs in California. Cassie argued that legal proceedings would be more convenient in New York, where her attorneys are based, rather than in California.

Howard has alleged that he participated in so-called “freak-offs” involving Diddy and Cassie and claimed he suffered physical and psychological harm. He also alleged that he contracted an STD and that Cassie became pregnant with his child before having an abortion.

In her response, Cassie cited a message Howard allegedly sent to her husband, Alex Fine, in 2023. According to the filing, Howard expressed support for Cassie’s abuse allegations against Diddy and said he believed her account of events.

Cassie previously reached a $20 million settlement with Diddy over abuse allegations. She also reportedly received about $10 million from the InterContinental Los Angeles Century hotel, where surveillance footage showed Diddy assaulting her in a hallway.
