The Oscar-winning director said he recently used the company’s FLUX AI tool to storyboard scenes for an upcoming film. According to Scorsese, the technology helped him quickly visualize ideas and share them with his production team without sacrificing quality.
In a video announcing the partnership, Scorsese explained that AI could reduce production time and make planning complex scenes more efficient. He compared the technology to other filmmaking innovations he has used, including 3D in Hugo and de-aging effects in The Irishman.
Scorsese joins other major filmmakers exploring AI, including James Cameron and Peter Jackson. However, some directors, such as Guillermo del Toro, remain strongly opposed to using generative AI in filmmaking.
The partnership comes as Hollywood increasingly experiments with AI-powered tools for film production and storytelling.
