Taylor Swift Calls Paul McCartney an ‘Exceptional Artist’ After His Praise

Taylor Swift has shown her admiration for music legend Paul McCartney by sharing his Instagram post about his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. In her post, Swift called McCartney an “eternally exceptional artist” and said she is always inspired by him.

The tribute comes shortly after McCartney compared Swift’s worldwide fame to the level of success The Beatles experienced during Beatlemania. Speaking to BBC Sounds, the 83-year-old singer said there are clear similarities between Swift’s global popularity and the fame his band once enjoyed.

McCartney also said Swift does not need any advice from him, joking that he is more of a “grandad” to her generation. He praised Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter, calling them talented artists.

The mutual respect between Swift and McCartney has been evident for years. They collaborated for Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians issue in 2020, met at major events, and have publicly supported each other’s careers. McCartney also attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium in London in 2024.
