Tom Holland Credits Zendaya for Helping Improve a Scene in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Tom Holland says working with Zendaya makes him a better actor and gives him someone he can trust on set.

Speaking on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, Holland recalled a moment while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day when he and Zendaya felt a scene was not working. After discussing it together, they shared their concerns with the producers and director Destin Daniel Cretton.

Holland said Cretton listened to their feedback and decided to stop filming for the day so the scene could be rewritten. The scene was reshot the next day, and Holland said the change greatly improved the final result.

The actor credited their close relationship for making the conversation possible, saying he would not have felt comfortable raising the issue with most co-stars.

Holland also praised Zendaya’s acting talent, highlighting her performances in Euphoria and The Drama. He described her as “fearless” and said she fully commits to every role she takes on.
