The decision came about 15 minutes after the DJ and producer was scheduled to take the stage at midnight. Coachella organizers said the wind conditions made it unsafe to proceed, particularly because of the scale and design of Anyma’s production. In a message sent through the festival’s mobile app, organizers stated that the cancellation was made jointly with the artist, with safety as the top priority.
The set was expected to debut “Aeden,” Anyma’s new conceptual show following his popular “Genesys” era. His performances typically rely on large, high-resolution LED structures and precisely engineered stage elements. According to officials, wind gusts in the area—reported between 25 and 35 mph—posed a risk to those installations.
The broader Coachella Valley has also been dealing with an air quality alert due to dust carried by the wind, adding to concerns for both attendees and performers.
There is no indication that the set will be rescheduled during Weekend 1, as the festival schedule is already full. However, Anyma is still slated to perform during Weekend 2 on Friday, April 17, and organizers expect conditions may improve by then.
The cancellation was especially disappointing for fans anticipating the live debut of “Bad Angel,” a recent collaboration between Anyma and LISA of BLACKPINK, and a possible surprise appearance.
For now, attention shifts to next weekend, where fans hope the full “Aeden” experience can be delivered as planned.
