Travis Kelce Reacts to Meryl Streep’s Joke About Him Walking in Heels

Travis Kelce has responded to a joke made by actress Meryl Streep about him.

On the April 29 episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce talked about Streep’s recent comment. While promoting her new movie The Devil Wears Prada 2, Streep joked that walking in high heels on cobblestone streets in Milan was very difficult and said she would like to see Travis try it.

Jason asked Travis if there was any “beef” between him and Streep. Travis made it clear there was not. He said he respects her and called her a “powerful woman,” adding that he is a fan.

At first, Travis joked that he could handle walking in heels. But when Jason suggested he actually try it, Travis reconsidered. He said it would be hard, especially finding high heels in his size (he wears size 14 shoes). After some back-and-forth, Travis admitted that walking in stilettos would be difficult and gave Streep credit.

Jason teased him for backing down, calling him a “quitter,” but Travis said he is unlikely to attempt the challenge anytime soon. Still, he left the door open, saying that if he ever ends up in Italy with the right shoes, he might try.

Some fans were confused about why Streep mentioned Travis in the first place. Others think it may be connected to a past comment by his fiancée, Taylor Swift, about how physically demanding football is compared to performing in heels.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to be released in theaters on May 1.
