In a recent podcast interview with Kylie Kelce, Song, 38, shared that she once had to go to the hospital because she became so overwhelmed while watching a playoff game at home. It happened during a close Game 7 between the Lakers and the Sacramento Kings. Song said she started drinking water every time the Lakers scored because she believed it was helping the team. The game was so stressful that she began hyperventilating and needed medical attention. Even at the hospital, she kept watching the game until staff turned off the TVs.
Song often attends Lakers games courtside with her fiancé, actor Macaulay Culkin. While he stays calm, she reacts loudly and emotionally to the action. She joked that Culkin worries she might get into arguments with other fans.
Despite her strong reactions, Song says she is calmer now than she used to be—especially compared to when Kobe Bryant played. She admitted that in the past, she would yell aggressively at players and even people around them. These days, she still cheers loudly but feels more in control.
Song has been a Lakers fan since 1996, when Kobe Bryant joined the team. She grew up watching basketball with her family, who were fans of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
She now stars in the Netflix series Running Point, which is about basketball. The show also features a small appearance by Culkin. Song said working on the series has been a dream because of her lifelong love of the sport.
Recently, she described surreal moments from attending games, including meeting team owner Jeanie Buss, seeing former player Pau Gasol, and being recognized by NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Song and Culkin have been together since 2017 and have two young sons.
