Demi Lovato and Jutes Celebrate First Wedding Anniversary With Heartfelt Tributes Despite Time Apart

Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes are marking a major milestone in their relationship: one year of marriage.

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Monday, May 25, by sharing emotional tributes and personal photos on Instagram. Although they were forced to spend the day apart because of their tour schedules, both made it clear their relationship is stronger than ever.

Jutes, 35, posted a collection of photos featuring moments from their wedding, vacations, concerts and life at home together. In his caption, he called Lovato his “soulmate” and “best friend.”

“Happy one year anniversary to my wifey! It’s crazy to think a year has gone by already, and somehow I love you even more than I did a year ago,” he wrote. “You’re SO clearly my soulmate and the best friend I’ve ever had.”

He also shared a short message on Instagram Stories, writing, “Best year of my life all thanks to u.”

Lovato, 33, posted her own anniversary tribute with 20 photos of the couple. The singer reflected on their wedding day and the small moments that made their first year of marriage special.

“1 year married to the one i love the most, my best friend and my favorite human,” she wrote. “365 days ago i stood across from u reciting my vows, thinking it wasn’t possible to love u anymore than i already do, but here we are a year later, and somehow i love u even more than that.”

She said their favorite memories include slow dancing at home, laughing late into the night, leaving parties early for Taco Bell runs and trying to “out-weird each other.”

The couple married last year in Santa Barbara, California, after getting engaged in 2023. They first went public with their relationship in 2022.

Even though they could not celebrate together this year, both are busy performing on tour. Lovato was scheduled to perform in Houston on May 25 as part of her “It’s Not That Deep” tour, while Jutes was performing in Amsterdam during his European tour.

One of the photos Jutes shared showed the pair performing the Goo Goo Dolls hit “Iris” together during a concert in New York City earlier this year — a song that also served as their wedding song.

Earlier this year, Lovato opened up about married life in an interview with PEOPLE, saying her love for Jutes continues to grow every day.

“I genuinely thought on my wedding day, ‘I can’t love this man any more than I already do,’” she said. “But every day, I just love him more and more.”

She described marriage as “a giant sleepover every night,” adding that the couple often stays up laughing together until they cry.
