Kelly Dodd Denies Claims After Facing Misdemeanor Charges in California Case

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd says reports about her recent criminal charges are “completely wrong” and plans to respond after appearing in court.

Court records filed in Orange County, California, show Dodd, 50, faces several misdemeanor charges, including allegedly sharing private explicit images without consent, battery, and sending harassing communications. Prosecutors claim the alleged incidents involved two women identified as Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2.

According to the complaint, prosecutors allege Dodd distributed intimate recordings and images that were expected to remain private, causing emotional distress to one alleged victim. The filing also claims the material was obtained without permission through access to private accounts, messages, and files.

Dodd addressed the case on her YouTube show, The Rick and Kelly Show, with her husband Rick Leventhal. She said she first learned about the reports when contacted by reporters and called the situation “beyond absurd.”

Leventhal said Dodd could not discuss details before her court appearance but claimed media reports had “most of the facts wrong.” Dodd also suggested someone in her family may be involved in leaking information about the case.

Dodd is scheduled to appear in court on May 28. If convicted, the misdemeanor charges could carry possible jail time.

Dodd appeared on RHOC from 2016 to 2021 before leaving the Bravo series.
