Police say the incident happened on Friday afternoon (May 1) in the Tarzana area of the San Fernando Valley. Officers responded around 4 p.m. after a woman called to report that someone had shot at her car.
According to reports, the suspect is a 35-year-old man named Markeith Cungious. The woman told police he fired at her vehicle during an argument.
When officers arrived, both people gave their sides of the story. The man claimed the woman refused to leave the area and that the situation got worse when she drove over his foot. He said this led him to fire at her car.
No one was hurt, and the woman did not need medical treatment.
Police later said the weapon used was a CO2-style handgun, not a traditional firearm.
Cungious was arrested at the scene. He faces possible charges related to firing a weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation is still ongoing.
It is not clear if Chris Brown was home at the time or if he knows either person involved.
The singer is currently preparing to release his new album on May 8 and will begin a stadium tour with Usher on June 26.
