Paris Jackson Says She’s Keeping Her Relationship With Michael Jackson Private

Paris Jackson says she is keeping her relationship with her late father, Michael Jackson, more private.

Speaking on Jack Osbourne’s Trying Not to Die podcast, the 28-year-old singer and actress said she no longer feels pressured to share personal memories or tributes online. Paris explained that in the past she felt she “owed” fans insight into her bond with Michael Jackson, but her view has changed.

“I’m allowed to be private about it,” she said, adding that her relationship with her father was “the most beautiful relationship ever.”

Paris also said she avoids making social media posts about Michael Jackson on major dates such as his birthday or the anniversary of his death because she does not want her expressions of love to feel “performative.”

During the interview, she pushed back against criticism that she grew up as a “spoiled brat,” saying her father taught her the importance of hard work. She said staying productive is essential to her happiness.

Paris also discussed the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, saying she distanced herself from the project after feeling parts of the script were inaccurate and overly “sugar-coated.”

Separately, Paris remains involved in a legal dispute connected to Michael Jackson’s estate. A judge recently ordered $625,000 in bonus payments made to outside law firms to be returned to the estate.
