Robert Pattinson Says He Trained Twice Daily for ‘The Batman’ and Is Bulking Up for Sequel

Robert Pattinson says he worked hard to get in shape for The Batman, despite criticism that his physique looked underwhelming in the 2022 film.

Speaking to GQ for its summer cover story, Pattinson revealed he even installed a home gym and trained twice a day, sometimes starting workouts at 3 a.m. He joked that people assumed he never exercised because of past comments he made about not liking workouts.

Pattinson is preparing to return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman: Part II, directed by Matt Reeves. While discussing the sequel, he admitted he still has not received a filming schedule, though a stunt coordinator told him to expect “11 weeks of nights.”

The actor also reflected on filming Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey, calling it one of the most physically demanding productions he has ever worked on. Cast and crew members often had to climb a 900-foot path to reach a filming location in Sicily, leaving many exhausted by the end of each day.

According to Pattinson, the intense experience on The Odyssey may have helped prepare him for the physical demands of the next Batman film.
