On May 1, Malik shared a message with fans saying he has been recovering at home after several hospital stays in April. He said he is feeling better but needs to reduce his schedule in the coming months.
Malik recently released a new album called Konnakol, and the tour was meant to support it. It would have been his first time performing as a solo headliner in large arenas and stadiums across the United States.
In his message, he thanked fans for their support and said he hopes to perform for them when he is fully recovered. He added that he still plans to do some shows and wants to see as many fans as possible.
In addition to the U.S. cancellations, his shows in Dublin and Birmingham in the U.K. have also been called off. However, some concerts in the U.K. and Mexico are still scheduled, starting May 23 in London.
Fans who bought tickets through Ticketmaster will get automatic refunds. Those who used other ticket sites are advised to contact the seller.
Details about Malik’s health condition have not been shared. He was hospitalized in April and had already canceled some promotional events at that time.
Malik was expected to begin his U.S. tour in July, with planned stops in cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.
